Ministry, Pg. 2

Now consider God’s truth regarding these things:

  • The man-centered paradigm of “things” is “They’re mine.”
  • The Biblical paradigm is “They’re His.”
  • The man-centered paradigm is “I’ve earned them, I can use them as I please.”
  • The Biblical paradigm is, “They’re His, and I must use them to please Him.”

If we (1) our see “things” as tools to be used to participate in building the Kingdom of God and for gaining a profitable return for their true Owner, and (2) we live our lives seeking His direction for their use in His context and purpose, then we’ll be profitable servants and will one Day hear His approving “Well done!”

There is, then, an eternal perspective of “things.”  And it’s only with this paradigm of life that we can ever hope to be eternally successful in their use.  The world doesn’t, and will never, understand this paradigm.  The world is a construct of options and distractions designed to obscure this truth.  But The Day will reveal the truth of it and the real value of all “things.”  Everything outside of our relationship with Christ will burn up!

We each must from among four options concerning “things”:

  • One, we can accept what’s been presented here and live as faithful stewards of Another’s property.
  • Two, we can deny what has been presented here and use what we have as we please.
  • Three, we can try to walk a middle road, seeing some things, like 10% of our income as God’s, and others, like the 90% that’s left, as mine (sort of a Laodicean approach, see Rev 3:14-22).
  • Or, Four, we can just wait for The Day and find out then!

Your call… what do you think?
